The Butchers Tower is one of the oldest towers built in the 15th century.
It is very modest it does not gives the impression of a tower. But contrary to its dimensions it was the platform for the heavy cannons and and it defended the inside of the citadel. The wall between the Tower of Butchers and the Tower of Ropemakers remained almost untouched, and so the periods of building can bee observed on it.

It has octagonal form, on a hexagonal base for the best action-range.
