This
kind of tower is unique in Romania, named after the clock with the dolls. The
role of the tower is to be gate into the castle.
It's aspect as it is today is since 1677
the
high of the tower is 64 meters, in 1899 it has been transformed to a museum, which
contains:
the weapon
museum
the
old museum
the
torture room
Using

At
the entrance of the castle the Tower With the Clock rises also known as the Gate's
Tower. It represents one of the greatest monument of the middle age's architecture.
At the base of the tower you can still observe the remaining of 3 great gates.
The
Clock is in the main tower. It has four towers at its four corners that marks
that death sentence could be pronounced here.
The
dolls representing the four seasons were destroyed by fire in 1676, they have
been changed with dolls representing the days of the week.
As the mechanism of the Central Tower's clock from Prague,
the mechanism of this tower's clock either has been made in Swiss at the beginning
of the 20th century.
In
a room in the tower's basement prisoners were tortured.
In
the upper levels of the tower is a museum, in which you can find the most representative
moments of Sighisoara.
